        The department aims for a comprehensive education that fosters correct historical awareness and
        provides profound knowledge of modern and traditional cultures of Korea.

        Introduce

        This department explores the history and culture of the Korean Wave and seeks to systematize the academic study of the Korean Wave culture. The department aims for a comprehensive education that fosters correct historical awareness and provides profound knowledge of modern and traditional cultures of Korea. Students will develop how to analyze K-pop, K-dramas, and Korean cinema and understand Korean culture and use what they have learned to create content related to the Korean Wave industry. Through this, they learn theories and practices of various cultural content industries of the Korean Wave.

        Learning objectives

        1）Understanding the Foundations of the Korean Wave: Analyze the historical development of the Korean Wave and examine the socio-political and economic factors that contributed to its rise.
        2）Analyzing K-pop, K-dramas, and Korean Cinema and Studying the production of Korean entertainment.
        3) Exploring Korean culture and history and Examining the cultural impact of the Korean Wave.
