Introduces the history of Dongbang Culture University,
which strives to globalize our culture.
Eung-Hyeon Kim was appointed as the first chief director at the first general meeting
by the ‘Educational Foundation of Dongbang Institute’
Educational Foundation of Dongbang college allowed by Ministry of Education in Korea
College building (underlying asset for education) purchased:
Shinsa-dong 9-16, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul metropolitan city
Director of Seonggyungwan, Chang-Gyu Choi was appointed as the second chief director
Seo-Bong Kim was appointed as the third chief director
Change of legal title from Dongbang Institute to Dongbang College
The executive chief of the Korean Buddhist Taego Order, Un-San Lee paid a contribution
with cash and real estate
Monk Gyu-Beom Lee was appointed as the forth chief director
Dongbang University allowed by Ministry of Education in Korea
Dongbang University opened.
Master’s courses started (total 100 students) in Dept. of Writing, Painting
and Calligraphy, Dept. of Buddhist Culture and Art, and the Dept. of Folk Culture
Dr. Sang-Ok Jeong was appointed as the first president of Dongbang University.
Doctoral and masters programs were established in 3 new departments (total of 205 students)
Master’s courses with a total of 80 students, Doctoral courses with total 45 studetns,
and combined master’s and doctorate programs with a total of 80 students
The first graduation ceremony with 10 masters students
Quorum adjustment (total of 210 people)
Master’s courses with a total of 48 students, Doctoral courses with a total of 90 students,
and combined master’s and doctorate programs with a total of 72 students
Expansion of the university site (real estate in Seongbuk-dong 304-2 purchased)
The first publication of the university magazine: Dongbang News

Dr. Gwang-Yong Go was appointed as the thid president of Dongbang university

Department reform with 4 Departments: Cultural Arts, Buddhist Culture and Art,
Natural Therapy, and Future Forcasting.
Ho-Un-Gwan building (three floors plus basement) opened in Seongbuk-dong 304-2/3)
Change of university name to Dongbang Culture University
Dr. Gyeong-Jae Park appointed as the 4th president of Dongbang Culture University
Dr. Gwang-Yong Go appointed as the 5th chief director of Dongbang Culture University
Graduation ceremony in the first term of 2015
(6 masters students, 10 doctoral students, and 1 honorary doctoral student)
Academic interchange with 北京人生启航国际教育科技中心
